Próspera Innovation Award: Honduran fashion entrepreneurs present their projects

Four Honduran fashion entrepreneurs presented their innovative proposals to a panel of judges during the Prospera Fashion Innovation Award event.

This is the first edition of the Próspera Award, an initiative in the country with the purpose of promoting national talent. It also seeks to position fashion as a driver of economic development. 

Among the participants were both established entrepreneurs and students of the UNITEC Design and Fashion. They shared their ideas and business models in pitch format.

Maribel traveled especially to Honduras to be part of this historic moment for national fashion. The judges got a first-hand look at the projects. They also talked with the participants about their vision, growth and potential in international markets.

That is why we are committed to promoting entrepreneurs. that are transforming this industry,” said Erick Brimen, CEO of Próspera, during the event, which took place in Tegucigalpa.

The Próspera Fashion Innovation Award aims to promote fashion in Honduras as an engine of development. It also seeks to create real opportunities for entrepreneurs and promote innovation with a global vision. 

After each competitor presented their projects to the judges and defended their dreams, the cases were deliberated. This resulted in the winner, Roberto Ramirez. He is a Honduran haute couture designer specializing in women's gala and cocktail wear creations.

The winner will travel to Roatan. There he will learn about Prospera. In addition, they will visit their districts and share their knowledge with other local entrepreneurs. This will strengthen the exchange of ideas and experiences.

The rest of the competitors were surprised to be invited to promote their projects. They will do so with the support of the Próspera. This will enable them to expand their markets.

This experience will allow projecting these businesses in an international innovation ecosystem. It will also create ties with the creative community and investors to generate new opportunities for the development of Honduras, said Maribel Liebermann.
